About ALI
ALI is the industry standard for automotive equipment testing in North America. Even though all our lift either meet or exceed industry standards and various occupational health & safety codes, some jurisdictions in Canada do require the ALI / ANSI certification for commercial applications.

Originally founded in 1945 as the trade association of U.S. manufacturers of in-ground lifts, the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI), in cooperation with the National Bureau of Standards, sponsored the first standard governing automotive lifts (CS142) in 1947.
 Currently credentialed by ANSI, and recognized by the International Accreditation Forum as an Accredited Standards Developer and a Product Certification Organization, ALI sponsors several nationally recognized automotive lift safety standards and offers a Third-Party Certification Program for automotive lift products and automotive lift inspection services provided by inspectors.
It is the stated policy of ALI to provide a high quality, independent, third-party Certification Program that promotes the safe design, construction, installation, inspection, and use of automotive lift products - Automotive Lift Institute.
